For faculty interested in developing and leading study abroad programs, our office provides comprehensive resources through the Faculty Leader Handbook. This detailed guide covers:

  • Logistical planning and risk management
  • Budgeting and financial considerations
  • Marketing to prospective students
  • On-site responsibilities and emergency protocols

Travel Policy for High-Risk Destinations

The safety of our faculty, staff, and students is our top priority. In accordance with MSMU policy, the university will not sponsor or provide funding for travel to destinations under a Level 3 ("Reconsider Travel") or Level 4 ("Do Not Travel") advisory from the U.S. Department of State. This reduces risk exposure for university-affiliated international activities.

Faculty Fulbright Opportunities

Our faculty are encouraged to pursue international professional development through prestigious programs like the Fulbright Scholar Program. These opportunities allow faculty to teach, conduct research, and exchange ideas with colleagues abroad. Visit to explore options.

Other Faculty Exchange Programs

In addition to Fulbright, there are various faculty exchange programs facilitated through institutional partnerships or membership associations like:
