Accepted Students

Welcome to the Family!

Congratulations on your acceptance to Mount St. Mary’s University! We hope that you are proud of your accomplishment, and that in a short while we will call you a fellow Mountie!

Now that you’ve been accepted, read more about your next steps below:

1. Apply for Financial Aid

Navigating the financial aid process may seem overwhelming, but we’re here to help. The FAFSA Simplification Act will streamline the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application process for families. Because of the changes being implemented, it is estimated that the FAFSA will not be available until December 2023. The availability of the FAFSA will be announced to accepted students.

Launch Experience

Orientation

Orientation is the official transition point where you change from a prospective student to a Mountaineer. The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs is here to help you find your way.

We want your experience at the Mount to be amazing, so we start it off with programs that give you a chance to meet other new students and learn about the resources and services you'll have available.

Orientation Activities

New Student Orientation is when the college transition starts to feel real for both students and parents, and provides new students the opportunity to:

  • Learn about fall course offerings.
  • Learn about the campus community and resources.
  • Meet with faculty and academic advisors.
  • Connect with other new students (maybe even find a roommate).
  • Explore campus, including touring residence halls.
  • Discover what it means to be a Mountie.
