Application Process

To be considered for admission, first-year students must complete a free online application using either the Mount Application or Common Application. As part of our holistic review we consider the following additional materials to complete the application package:

First-year student deadlines are November 1 (Early Action I), December 1 (Early Action II) and February 1 (Priority Financial Aid Deadline).

Mount St. Mary’s University will evaluate and accept credits from high schools, colleges and universities by following the policies that those institutions have established in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak and the shift to remote learning.

  • High school transcript(s) – Required

    We recommend that students complete a minimum of 4 years of English, 3 years of mathematics, 3 years of science, 2 years of one foreign language, and 3 years of social studies/history. Students should have the complete and final transcript high school transcript sent directly from their school to the Admissions Office.

  • Recommendations – Required

    A recommendation letter or form from a teacher or school counselor should also be submitted directly to the Mount.

  • Standardized Test Scores – Optional

    Students may submit results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), the American College Testing program (ACT) and/or the Classic Learning Test (CLT) to the Admissions Office, but these test scores are not required for admission or scholarship consideration except for international applicants. Either direct results from the testing agency or results included on official school transcripts are acceptable. The university's CEEB number is 5421, and its ACT number is 1726.   • Essay/Personal Statement – Optional

    Students can submit an essay or personal statement as part of the application, or separately by emailing their counselor or uploading it to their applicant portal.
