Ten minutes north of the Mount, Gettysburg’s rich history is readily accessible. Visit the area battlefields, watch historical re-enactments, and enjoy museums, shopping and movies.
Twenty-five minutes from the Mount, Frederick features a historic downtown with shopping and dining, Civil War sites and parks and a minor league baseball team. The Mount has a Frederick campus for graduate and adult programs.
Forty-five minutes from the Mount, enjoy hiking, white water rafting, and information about John Brown’s historic raid near this scenic riverside spot.
One hour from the Mount, Baltimore offers plenty of entertainment and history with its Inner Harbor, museums, the National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, and Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, home to the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, respectively!
One hour and 15 minutes from the Mount, check out the National Mall, monuments and memorials, the White House and more. Dine at Ben’s Chili Bowl, Busboys and Poets, or Old Ebbitt Grill D.C. – or catch a Nationals game.
