About the certificate.

In this program, you'll learn about effective leadership skills, leadership self-assessment, governance, and the central role of parents in education. In addition to experiences in management of schools and the use of technical skills to support teacher development, you'll also focus on applicable legal issues, supervision and managing school finances.

Course content also covers strategies for curriculum design, implementation and assessment, which are developed and evaluated in response to political, social, economic, legal and cultural contexts. You'll even complete a portfolio that showcases your experiences as they relate to relevant national and state standards.

The post-baccalaureate certificate in instructional leadership consists of six three-credit courses. Courses include:

  • Principles of School Leadership and Administration
  • Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
  • Improving Instructional Practice through Supervision
  • Educational Policy and School Law
  • School Leadership Practicum I
  • School Leadership Practicum II

The graduate certificate in instructional leadership is designed for individuals who hold a master’s degree in education.

Graduate level programs are designed to be taken one course at a time, providing you the flexibility you need to complete the classes at your own pace; with that the program pricing is set by credit hours instead of by the year like traditional undergraduate programs.

  • Cost is based on 15 credits (five (5) classes) at $585 per credit.

Financial Aid

Students enrolled on at least half-time basis (six-credits per semester) may qualify for financial aid. You may seek financial assistance through federal and state-funded programs, private loan providers or deferment of undergraduate loans. The Mount also has a variety of employer tuition remission or reimbursement agreements with local businesses and community colleges, so you may just get a discount from your employer or previous college.
