Will your life’s journey take you around the globe? We have amazing adventures where you can travel for an entire semester, for your summer break or even just for a short "intensive" trip abroad. Traveling out of the country gives you a new perspective on the people and cultures of the world, as well as experiences and memories to last a lifetime.

Class Excursions

If you’re studying the business and culture of China, India and Russia, we have short-term exchange programs to visit the country’s historic locations, collaborate with foreign business leaders, and experience international lesson plans firsthand.

Semester-Long Programs

Travel for a full semester and immerse yourself in language and culture.

  • Prague, Czech Republic

    (Fall semester, even years) – Dive into the history, culture, and language of the Czech Republic. Explore the vast array of architectural building styles from Romanesque to Gothic and Baroque to Art Nouveau as you make your way through the “City of a Hundred Spires.” And be sure to catch the procession of the Twelve Apostles at the astronomical clock tower in Old Town Square.

  • Dublin, Ireland

    (Fall semester, odd years) – While exploring Ireland’s capital city, you’ll study Irish life and culture as you stroll through St. Stephen’s Green, soak up the history of Guinness and live on the edge at the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher.

  • Florence, Italy

    (Spring semester, even years) – The birthplace of the Renaissance, which has been called "the Athens of the Middle Ages,” is a romantic, enchanting and utterly irresistible city. Enjoy cooking classes, concerts, walking tours, entrance to various churches, and museums in Florence. Then visit Rome, Assissi, Siena, and San Gimignano and learn about their influences in fields of art, culture, and politics.

  • Cuenca, Ecuador

    (Spring semester) – Experience the interplay of contemporary and traditional culture in the country of Ecuador. You'll study life and culture of Ecuador, which includes interesting lectures and cooking classes. You'll be given the opportunity to volunteer and have the chance to explore, live and study in the historic area of Cuenca. Some activities include a Quito city tour, a visit to "La mitad del mundo" (where the equator divides the hemisphere), and also a trip to the Amazon region. The group visits the three most important cities of Ecuador, which are Quito and Guayaquil and Cuenca, which is where you will study at the Univeristy of Cuenca.

A Week Abroad

Wanting to go abroad but don't have space in your schedule? Go abroad during break! Learn about amazing places and grasp a new understanding of the world.

  • Berlin, Germany

    Looking to explore Germany? Come and immerse yourself in the modern life of Berlin’s rich culture, history, and German cuisine. Enjoy a leisure River Spree cruise along with incredible guided tours to Reichstag, German Historical Museum, Sachsenhausen Museum and Memorial Park, Jewish Cemetery, Hohenschonhausen Memorial, plus much more. Students receive one credit and the trip is open to anyone related to the Mount including parents, employees, and alumni.

    Want to go to Rome? Here's the chance of a lifetime. Explore the history of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. Then spend a whole day in Florence, learning about some amazing places.

  • Spain

    Come visit beautiful Granada, Seville and Cordoba in Southern Spain. Learn about medieval castles and palaces, while viewing stunning cathedrals. Walk the streets of Toledo which is known for the unquie mix of Islamic, Jewish and Christian cultures. Spain is waiting for you to come and experience its beauty.

  • London, England

    Come and explore different parts of London on this amazing trip!

Summer Abroad Programs

Want to travel the world? Go abroad during the summer, where you can learn about different cultures, pick up a new languages or strengthen your understanding of the world around you.

  • Cusco, Peru

    On this trip service and culture are combined. Among the cultural sites to visit is Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. Students receive one credit and the trip is open to anyone related to the Mount including parents, employees and alumni.

  • Madrid, Spain

    In this four-week, intensive program, you may live in a "residencia" or with a family. Among the culture activities, students go to a flamenco show, visit Madrid's surroundings, museums and have a weekend excursion at Toledo.

  • Salzburg, Austria

    This four-week academic program is held in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. Students select one of two 3-credit courses taught by Mount faculty; this is not a foreign language program, and all courses are taught in English. Immerse yourself in Austrian history, culture, and cuisine, and engage with local society, as you explore the city and region on your own and through organized excursions. You’ll live and learn in a former 18th century residence located in the beautiful outskirts of the city in the shadow of the foothills to the Alps.

  • San Jose, Costa Rica

    On this immersive four-week summer program, you'll live with families, while taking excursions to the rain forest, active volcanos, museums and coffee tours. You'll have a city tour of San Jose and among other activities, will take cooking and Latin American dancing classes. There will also be an optional weekend in Panama with a Panama city and canal tours.

  • Tours, France

    Explore French culture and language through traveling to Tours, where Paris is less than an hour away. Travel through French history by visiting the places where Joan of Arc, Honore de Balzac, and St. Martin de Tours lived.
