Registration FAQs

How much does Reunion Weekend Cost?

To offer you the greatest flexibility in designing your weekend itinerary, all Reunion events are set up for registration a la carte. There will be a one-time $15 registration fee for each registrant participating in Reunion. This registration fee partially subsidizes general Reunion overhead costs like registration refreshments, tent rentals, student-worker wages, Reunion Festival and nightly entertainment.

Are non-Reunion classes invited?

Yes, alumni who are not part of an official Reunion class but would like to attend are welcome to do so.

Is there a registration deadline?

Yes. The online registration deadline is September 17.

What if I don't register before the deadline?

If you miss the Reunion registration deadline, you may register when you arrive on campus. Walk-up registration will be held in the McGowan Center in front of the Mount Bookstore.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

You can cancel your registration before September 17 by contacting the Office of Alumni Engagement at alumni@msmary.edu or by calling 301-447-5362.

Please note if you have made reservations with a local hotel to please contact them directly to cancel your reservation.

Activities FAQs

What is there to do during Reunion?

Reunion Weekend includes many different events. You can participate in some or all – it's up to you. Among the weekend activities and programs are the following:

  • Brute Medal Alumni Banquet.
  • Mount Briefing with President Timothy E. Trainor, Ph.D.
  • Reunion Festival.
  • Class socials and dinners.
  • Entertainment each evening.

What is my Class event?

Each Reunion class holds their own evening event held on or off campus. This is a special time for classmates to reconnect and celebrate their reunion. Guests are welcome.

Will I have the opportunity to hear President Trainor speak?

Yes! On Saturday, President Trainor will give a first-hand update on life at the Mount in his annual Mount Briefing. He will talk about what has changed, what hasn't, and what the future holds, along with a Q&A period.

Will there be alcohol?

Beer and wine are included with your class socials as well as the Brute Medal Alumni Banquet. Beer and wine are also available for purchase during the Reunion Festival. For all other Reunion events, alumni and guests must provide their own alcohol.

The university also offers an AA/Al-Anon meeting during the weekend.

Travel and Accommodations FAQs

Where should I go when I arrive?

If you first arrive to your room block hotel or Reunion Golf, there will be a Mount Reunion check-in table.  If you arrive to campus first, please visit the Main Lobby of the McGowan Center (infront of the Bookstore) to check-in.

What will COVID guidelines be for the weekend?

Mount St. Mary’s will follow all CDC, state, and local COVID guidelines for reunion weekend that are in place come October. We do not require that attendees be vaccinated for reunion weekend, however we encourage vaccination according to the CDC recommendations. Current guidance for fully vaccinated individuals states they can return to their normal activities and not wear a mask. It will be encouraged that those who are not vaccinated should wear a mask. We will have a health attestation form to fill out prior to attendees arrival that asks questions such as fever, exposure, etc.

What if the weather is bad?

Some events may be moved inside, but in traditional Mount spirit, our Reunion celebrations will continue rain or shine.

What are my housing options for the weekend?

This year, due to reunion weekend being held during the fall semester, we are unable to offer on-campus accommodations.

See our list of local area hotels where room blocks have been set-up for reunion weekend.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Pets are allowed on campus grounds, but not in campus buildings unless you have a medical need. Please look for local kennels or speak to local hotels/rentals about pet accommodations.

I have some particular needs related to accessibility. What should I do?

Mount St. Mary's is committed to making its campus accessible to persons with disabilities. However, not all areas of campus are fully accessible. Individuals who have accessibility questions should contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at 301-447-5362 or alumni@msmary.edu.
